You have been fully equipped to live this life.  You are lacking nothing.  All you need has been given you by the grace of God.

Everybody has something that they do well, maybe better than anyone else.  Everybody has something they do well that is important and needed.  Everybody has been gifted in some way.  We don’t all get the same gift.  Maybe you are a math whiz, or maybe you are skilled with words, or maybe can get along with anybody, or maybe you are graceful in motion, or maybe they haven’t invented the musical instrument that you cannot play.  Whatever your particular gift is, God made us so that you, no matter who you are, have something to contribute, and he made it that there is something you can’t do, so we need each other.

Our individual gifts and abilities make us think about grace.  It is by the grace of God that we are gifted, and in turn our awareness of our gifts directs our thoughts back to grace.   Thanksgiving and grace go together.   We all have a gift, and we all have reason to be thankful, for our gifts are the results of the grace of God.   We discern our unique personal gifts, and that discernment leads us full circle back to grace.

In our sermon this Sunday we will talk about grace and giftedness.
