Things don’t have to be the way they are. The world doesn’t have to be as troubled as it is. Our own lives don’t need to be filled with regrets. Someday, by the power of God, everything will be made right. In the meantime, we can make things better than they are. We can facilitate a turnaround.
In the Bible, John the Baptist was the man who announced the coming of Jesus. John preached repentance. Repentance means a turnaround.
We can move in a different direction. To effect a turnaround, four steps are required. We need to acknowledge the truth of our lives. We need to be sincerely sorry for the mistakes we have made. We need to desist from our sins. And, to the extent possible, we need to make restitution for the harm we have caused.
In the end, it all depends upon God. God will bring in his kingdom. God sent Jesus to forgive us of our sins and give us a second chance. It all depends upon God ultimately. We trust in God. We wait for God. We prepare for God by aligning ourselves with him. We make a turnaround.
