Proverbs 31 concludes with a well-known poem that begins, “The capable wife, who can find?”  It is a twenty-two verse acrostic listing the qualities of a biblical woman.  A twenty-two point sermon would be long even for the most ambitious preacher, but here are a few takeaways:

  1. The capable woman works hard.
  2. The capable woman has good business sense.
  3. The capable woman provides for her family.
  4. The capable woman lifts up the other members of her family.
  5. The capable woman is appreciated by her children.
  6. The capable woman fears the Lord.
