At Integrity Church we are talking about the question, “Who is Jesus for you?” One possibility: Jesus is the savior who sees you.
We all want to be seen. We all want to be acknowledged. We all want to be worthy of someone else’s attention. At the same time, we are reluctant to be fully known. We conceal parts of our life from others. We can’t hide from Jesus. Jesus helps us overcome the shame we feel. Jesus helps us to face the truth of our lives.
We have to face the truth of our lives if we want to become the person God made us to be. Truth is critical to our spiritual maturity. We can’t get to where we want to be if we can’t admit where we are right now. Accepting reality allows us to grow up.
Jesus not only sees us, he saves us. He is the savior who sees us. We need his power to become who we are meant to be. Without Jesus, even with motivation and willpower, we grow weary or make a mistake and slide back down to the bottom again. We need Jesus to see us and also to save us.
In our message this Sunday we will look at Jesus, the savior who sees you.
