It would be nice to be able to understand what God is trying to tell us.  It would be nice to know the particulars of the life God intended us to live.  How can we know?  The Apostle Paul, in his first letter to the Corinthians, said that spiritual people know.

A spiritual person is one who has received the Holy Spirit when they were baptized into the faith.  A spiritual person has evidences of the spirit in the way they live: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.  A spiritual person sees their life, and the world, different from the way other people see.

How can we spiritual people?  Paul gives us the clue in his line, “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor human imagination envisioned what God has prepared for those who love him.”  The way to become a spiritual person is through love.  By submitting to God’s will and serving people, we grow more spiritual.

In our sermon this Sunday we will look at how we can become spiritual people.
