The resurrection of Jesus Christ is the best illustration of grace that we could ever find.
Through the cross and resurrection of Jesus we have forgiveness of our sins. Jesus did not simply make it possible for us to pay our debts and undo some of the damage we have done in our lives. He wiped the slate clean. Pure grace.
Through the cross and resurrection of Jesus Christ we have a victory of right over wrong and good over evil. If we had the ability to fix the problems of this troubled world, we would have done so long ago. We don’t and we can’t. Jesus could and he did. Jesus has overcome the world. Pure grace.
Through the cross and resurrection of Jesus Christ we have the gift of eternal life. Every day we have on this earth is a gift. Add to that the promise of eternity and you have a gift beyond calculation. Pure grace.
In our sermon this Sunday we will talk about the resurrection and how it shows us that our lives are pure grace, better than we deserve.
